Ayurvedic head spa in Colindale, London

A head spa is a treatment for the scalp and hair: the scalp is assessed, exfoliated and cleansed, then massaged with warm oil, steamed, masked and rinsed. At Arogya Studio in Colindale it is done the Ayurvedic way, with a herbal oil chosen for your scalp and marma (pressure point) massage for the head, neck and shoulders. Sessions last from 45 minutes to 2 hours and cost £85 to £155.

The steps will be familiar if you have had a Korean or Japanese head spa. What is different here is the oil therapy at the centre of it, and that every treatment is given by Dr Priyanka herself in a private room.

Questions

Head spa: common questions.

How much does a head spa cost at Arogya Studio?

£85 for the 45-minute Express Head Spa, £100 for the 60-minute Arogya Head Spa Ritual and £155 for the 2-hour Signature Ayurvedic Head Spa. The 75-minute Ayurvedic Hair Growth Treatment is £125.

What is the difference between an Ayurvedic head spa and a Japanese or Korean head spa?

The steps are similar: scalp assessment, cleansing, massage, steam and rinse. The Ayurvedic version adds warm herbal oil chosen for your scalp and constitution (dosha), and marma point massage for the scalp, neck and shoulders.

Will my hair be washed afterwards?

The Arogya and Signature head spas finish with a waterfall rinse. If you would like a full shampoo, conditioner and towel dry, add the 30-minute Hair Wash for £40.

Is this treatment for women only?

Yes. All hands-on treatments at Arogya Studio are for women only, in a private room with Dr Priyanka. Consultations are open to everyone.
